They sold their home to build a shelter. Now it needs a roof.
The foundation is poured and the walls are rising. To finish before the frost, the team in Cherkasy needs $10,512 for the roof and insulation.

This summer, Oksana Savitskaya, founder of the Cherkasy Regional Charity Foundation "Life", sold her own apartment to build a permanent shelter for animals rescued from the front line. For four years the team had worked out of a run-down rented house with a leaking roof, and with so many families displaced from the front-line regions, there was no other house to move to.

Today the land is bought, the foundation is poured and the first walls are rising. The money from the apartment is all spent. Before the frost the building needs a roof, ceiling framing, basalt wool insulation, ventilation with heat recovery, floors, doors and covered enclosures. That costs $10,512, nearly half a million hryvnias in Ukraine.
